My Dream Job

My dream job is to be a tattoo artist. Being a tattoo artist is a very hard job because it takes a lot of time and patients. To become a tattoo artist you have to have much experience and really be interested on drawing. Growing up I was really over protected by my older brothers so I would be in my room all day practicing on my drawings. I liked being on my own and express my inter emotions by drawing. I am going to talk about my dream job and how I want to get to it.

I think that by being a tattoo artist you have to have a lot of talent and patients. I have been wanting to be a tattoo artist since I was 15. I've always liked to draw since I was a little girl. My mom would let me draw on my walls when I would run out of paper in my sketch books. When I decided to be a tattoo artist was when my brother and I would airbrush shirts for people. We use to drive to school everyday and by airbrushing shirts we would make a few dollars for gas.

When we would be at school we would always get asked to airbrush shirts for people that was the style for us back then. We would airbrush for any occasions and charge depending on how big or what the person wanted. As the years passed kids started getting tattoos and I had a friend that sold tattoo guns and airbrushing guns. So I decided to buy tattoo gun. I would go to tattoo shops and made friends with the workers so I would ask a lot of questions. I've always wanted to interview Mister Cartoon he is one of the best tattoo artist around. I would like to become as big as him one day.

One day I walked in one of the shops and made friends with all the workers and one of them let me help him with a guy's tattoo. I helped by shading the outside of the guy's tattoo. I was really nervous but exited and ever since then I've always wanted to do tattoo because that was the greatest experience ever. I'm planning to go to an art institute to get practice because practice makes perfects.

When I become good at doing tattoos I want to own my own tattoo shop. I want to move back to Riverside and make my shop known. I want to take a business class so that I can know how to run my business. It will be hard and it would cost a lot of money but I think at the end achieving my goal and making my dream come true, would be worth all my hard work.

By achieving my dream job I would help my parents and people who have helped my threw out the years. Knowing that I will be accomplishing and doing what I love to do for the rest of my life makes me want to have my tattoo shop even more. My dream job includes time, talent, and patients. But for now I will be patient and practice practice practice. I will achieve and make my dream job come true with hard work.

My Time at Back Bay

I enjoyed my time at Back Bay High because it is a really great school with great teachers. All the staff and teachers were alway there when I needed help with a situation. They always have us prepared for any situation. We had fun this year in Back Bay because of all the activities we had. Even though I am a senior I didn't go to my grad night but I heard it was really fun. I went to a lot of field trips that were really fun like the trip to Golden West.

Golden West Field Trip

I am very thankful with all the teachers at this school because they helped me with all my requirements I needed to graduate. I am going to miss everything at this school but I am moving on to bigger and better things like college. I'm going to be on my own now I have to become more responsible because I am not going to have my teachers helping me with my requirements. Back Bay is my favorite school out of all the schools I've been to because they really do help students graduate and catch up on their credits.

Field Trip

All the activities that Back Bay had were all really fun for example Halloween, Cinco de Mayo, and Saint Patricks Day. Even though people don't think this is a normal high school the staff treats us like if we were a normal high school. We celebrate all the activities that come up. This school is based on not leaving any students behind they help out every student. They take us to trips that are educative and help us chose what colleges we want to go to. Also to the students who have a good GPA they reward them and give them off campus passes for lunch.

My time at Back Bay will be done in a short time but I had fun and I am glad I am having the chance to graduate. This school gave me the chance to catch up on my credits because when I first got here I thought I was going to stay for a long time but this is a great school and I got all the help I needed. Thanks to all the teachers that helped me get threw my year as a senior I will miss this school very much.

Lunch Time

My Summer of 2011

What I would like to do this summer is party, go to the beach, get

a job, and plan for college. I hope to make my summer of 2011 better than

my summer last year. I want to reunite with my old friends and go to different

cities and try new things. I love food so I am planning to go to restaurants that

I haven’t tried. This summer is going to be awesome.

This summer I want to go party with some of my college friends from

UCSB. Some of them have their own apartments and we go swimming in their

pool and tan. I always go with a few friends to Santa Barbara and we take cool

road trips. We always stop in LA and try these delicious Pho restaurants the

food is amazing. I also like to stop in Calabasas and window shop it’s really fun

even though we don’t buy anything.

Last summer I enjoyed going to the beach and tanning all day. When

night comes it’s also fun to have bomb fires and hang out with a few cool friends

that know how to have fun. Other than having fun I would like to apply in many

places and get a job so that I can be a little more responsible. I hope to help out

my parents with rent and other expenses. 

This summer I am going to be a high school graduate so I will have to

be looking forward to college. I am going to have to juggle work and make a

schedule that would have to work for school and work. I am a little nervous to

be on my own but if other people can do it then I can do it too. This summer of

2011 is going to change my life because I am going to become an adult.

"La Bamba"

 

I am choosing to talk about the movie La Bamba because it is based on a true story about a young rock ‘n’ roll singer named Ritchie Valens. I enjoy this movie because Ritchie is one of my favorite singers and the movie tells his story. Ritchie Valens was born May 13, 1941 and he died February 3, 1959. Luis Valdez directed this movie in 1987. La Bamba is about the death of a rock star that affected the lives of his half-brother Bob Morales, his mother, and sister Connie Valenzuela, and his girlfriend Donna Ludwig.

              This movie has action and a cute love story in between about Ritchie. It is a classic and many people I know like it because it is a very good movie. My personal opinion about this movie is that it is one of the best movies I've seen from the 1900s. I think directors should make more movies based on true stories because they are more interesting to watch.

 

            This movie also has several interesting subplots in relationship with his mother, sister Connie and his brother Bob. The movie includes situations in the Ritchie's family and his music career. I think this movie is a hit because of all the interesting things someone could do and accomplish. This movie could relate to someone else's life and this movie tells the story.  

 

       This move also talks about Ritchie's fear of flying and he faced his fear but ended up in a terrible accident. I think the movie gives action and Love stories and family problems that everyone has.  That is why I think this movie is my number one favorites in my list.

            This movie is one of my favorite movies to watch. Ritchie Valens was a great rock ‘n’ roll singer and will always be remembered. I would recommend people to watch this movie because it is really interesting and every one will enjoy watching it.

Compare and Contrast

   I chose to talk about Scre4m and I think that Roger Ebert's opinion about this movie is right. He thinks that if this was really happening with all the stabbings and killer on that street, Why would people still live there? My opinion is similar to his but my question is, Why would students have parties with a killer on the lose? Why did the killer even come back to kill innocent people?

   This killer ended up being the main character's cousin. Why would she kill her own mother just so she could become famous and known by people? In the movie it doesn't explain for what reason the killer always changes and is going after the same person. I think most of the movies that are based on a killers are mostly the same every killer has their certain town. At the end of the movies all the killers end up defeated like in Scre4m both the killers ended up dead. I wonder how they could get away with killing cops?

   I think my opinion about this movie is similar to Roger Ebert's because we both had a lot of questions about how some details in the movie were not explained properly. He has good points about the movie, I agree but other than all the questions it is really interesting to watch. I think Scre4m was a really good movie it made me jump a few times but, I would totally recommend for people to watch it.

My Dream School!

This is an example of student work at golden West

Some of the schools I will like to be attending are Orange Coast College, Golden West College, or FIDM. I wanted to get in a school of design because I enjoy drawing and I would like for one day have my own clothing line. My dream school has to have an art class that would show me the basic material I need to know about sketching. Designing my own cloths or drawing would be possible at Golden West College or FIDM.


I also want a class that would teach me how to manage my own business. The school I would like to go to the most is Golden West College because it provides the classes I would like to take when I graduate from high school. I'm interested in Golden West because it has hands on training and, it is a very big campus with lots of helpful teachers. I would also like to get help from my teachers to help me get into the College that is best for me.

Where Will I be in 5 Years?

In 5 years from now I want to be already graduated from a community college. I want to be attending Golden West or Orange Coast College. I want to take some art classes in Golden West and own my own art gallery and/or tattoo shop. Right now I’m hoping to graduate from high school and get my diploma and move back into my parents house.

 I want to be applying for schools to see which is the best for my future career. I would like to be a business woman so that I could help my family out with money. I really hope that Golden West is a good choice of school for my art classes because I am really interested in becoming a tattoo artist. Art has been my passion ever since I was a little girl.

 In 5 years I’m hoping to have my life settled, and help my family out with their bills and needs. I would like to travel to many different countries or states like going to Europe, Spain, and Japan. 5 years from now I want to have all my goals completed and be on my own and have my own family. Those will be my goals I will be looking forward in these 5 coming years.  

My Favorite Artist

        Jose Lopez one of my favorite tattoo artist which inspired me to want to be an artist. He owns his own shop, its called Lowrider Tattoo. Jose is a famous tattoo artist and is well know for having the best tattoo coming out of his shops.

About Me

First off my name is Daisy Marin I am 18 years old. I love art especially tattoo art and graffiti. Every young person has problems in there life and I was one of them. I would draw on the walls of my room every day to feel more better about each day. I don't live with my parents at the moment, I live with my godmother. I go back home every weekend to visit my parents in Riverside and come back to Costa Mesa during the week for school. My biggest goal is to graduate so that I can move back in with my parents and rub my diploma on everyones face and show them I accomplish my first goal.
